“Fierce, fiery, and raw with vulnerability and heart.”
Since, and probably because of, my childhood, I have always had a creative, determined and independent spirit. Leading me to slide easily into characters who are ‘a bit fierce, a bit fiery a bit raw, with vulnerability and heart’.
Born and raised in Southern California, I spent several years at a Catholic boarding school for families in need, after my mom passed away, at the age of 2 and my dad was left to raise 5 girls between the ages of 2-8. My sisters and I, and the other ‘boarders’ spend hours entertaining each other putting on skits and plays.
While theatre was a big party of my life in high school, life lead me on different creative path, to the world of Retail Visual Merchandising. I spent the better part of my adult life designing what I like to call ‘mini stages behind glass’. Working with clients such as Nordstrom, Tiffany & Co, Ralph Lauren, Chanel and others, designing store window displays and assisting with interior merchandising.
When asked by a friend ‘what would I do if money and success were not a factor’ and my immediate response was ‘I’d be an actor!’, I realized that this aspiration, that life had set aside, needed to take center stage, literally! Transitioning from a life telling stories through retail window display into a life telling stories on stage made perfect sense. So, I did!!
I immediately immersed myself in training for this new adventure. Initially focused on theatre at Denver Center for the Performing Arts: Education and eventually leading to film and Television. I continue to train with various coaches including Scott Takeda (the Takeda Technique), DaJuan Johnson (Think Bigger Coaching), Shari Shaw, and others.
When not acting, I spend my time playing ‘favorite aunt’ (yup! I said it!) to 22 nieces and nephews and/or traveling to…well…anywhere… I mean, how can you have a favorite place if you haven’t tried them all?!? I’ve also spent many years as a volunteer foster parent to shelter dogs.
Whether it’s the overprotective, yet understanding wife/mom in Dinner for Two, the manipulative CEO in The Confidential Client, the fierce cult leader in Primal Cut, or the sympathetic psychiatrist in House of Amygdala, bringing the necessary depth and abundance of emotions to every character is an element I bring from the life lessons I’ve lived through.
Though this journey of acting started for me later in life, I know it is where I am meant to be now and moving forward.
